The Kathmandu Valley in Nepal offers several outdoor rock climbing destinations for enthusiasts. Here are a few popular rock climbing spots in and around Kathmandu Valley:
Hattiban:
Located on the outskirts of Kathmandu about 25 km south, Hattiban is a popular rock climbing area. It offers a variety of climbing routes suitable for both beginners and experienced climbers. There are 3 climbing crags. The crag is easily accessible and offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills with Dollu valley with beautiful Monasteries.
Nagarjun Forest:
Situated on the western outskirts of Kathmandu, Nagarjun Forest is known for its limestone cliffs. The cliffs within the jungle/Shivapuri Nagarjun national park provide a range of climbing routes suitable for all skill levels. The area is also home to Nagarjun hill which offers additional opportunities along with opportunities for hiking, exploration and wildlife spotting.
Kakani:
Situated approximately 25 kilometers northwest of Kathmandu, Kakani is a beautiful hill station known for its panoramic views of the Himalayas. It also offers rock climbing opportunities on its granite cliffs, making it a popular destination for climbers.
