The most coveted exotic adventure with the highest trekking peak in the world is Mera Peak, which is cradled in Nepal’s young Himalayan ranges in the Khumbu region.

This peak has three main summits i.e. Mera North (6476 m), Mera Central (6461m) and Mera South (6065m). The peak was first summited in 1953.

Mera Peak (6470m) climbing can offer you a bewitching panoramic view of snowy peaks above 8000m such as Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Kanchenjunga, and Makalu.

The trekkers usually trek across the sanctuary of Makalu Barun National Park, green lush landscape, high altitude passes, Sherpa villages displaying pristine cultures, high altitudes, glacial moraines, high altitude passes, and glaciers, diverse flora and fauna until reaching the base camp.

Chirping birds in every tree, rhododendrons, oak and small human settlements camouflaged by the dense forest actually make your vacation more adventurous, strikingly delightful and exclusively mesmerizing after being in union with nature in true sense.

Needless to say, what you actually need is above average physical stamina to withstand altitude sickness, and experience of using ice ax and walking on ice with crampons, while ascending or descending, along with your meticulous itinerary for the expedition.

Either of the experienced climber and amateur can summit this peak, with less technical aspects, although you need to be careful about unstable scary glaciers and altitudes that add extra flavor to the thrill and excitement of your adventure.

The main expedition to Mera peak starts from Lukla- a gateway to the Khumbu region or by land driving Kathmandu to Salleri – Phaplu - Kharikhola. Usual taking of flight from Kathmandu to Lukla airport. Then you head east over Zatra-La Pass and get into Hinku valley and proceed further.

Both spring and autumn are the best time for the climbers. But those who are daring climbers can use any time throughout the year if they can grapple with the challenges.
